He served as a faculty member of the Graduate School of Business at Loyola University Chicago (1994–2007) where he was formally recognized twice for excellence in teaching and contributions to the field.He is a graduate of programs at the Center for Creative Leadership and the Art and Practice of Leadership Development at The Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He is certified by New Ventures West as an Integral Coach and holds a PhD in organization development from Benedictine University where his dissertation research focused on the contribution of executive coaching to organizational change and senior leadership development. He is a graduate, with distinction, of the INSEAD Executive Master of Coaching and Consulting for Change (EMCCC) program specializing in clinical organizational psychology.
