Derek M. O’Connor is both Managing Partner and Founder at AMPLFY Coaching.Derek began an extremely successful career in the corporate sector encompassing senior sales & marketing roles in corporate & key account/strategic management in telecommunications and technology sectors with companies such as Canon, COLT and British Telecom working between the United Kingdom and Ireland.Mpving to Paris in 2003 he transitioned into the learning and development sector taking up the role as Senior Development Manager at HEC School of Management. Initially hired to spearhead EMEA business development, he was subsequently promoted to develop a part-time MBA program. During his tenure, HEC moved up from N°1 Business School in France to N°1 in Europe. He was a key part of the team that improved the schools global MBA ranking to position HEC among Top 20 Business Schools in the world. During his time at HEC he consulted and coached more than 1,000 students from 128 countries (EMEA).

Joining EBS University as Associate Dean in 2010, he demonstrated his ability to deliver transformational leadership to exceed financial, performance and organisational targets. He led EBS from national to international recognition with N°1 business school ranking in Germany and first-time entry at N°14 in the Financial Times Top 20 MSc programmes. As a result of bringing forward the long-term vision of the Board in enabling EBS to gain prominence in international rankings and to achieve EQUIS accreditation his duties were extended to incorporate a number off new departments, most importantly the development of Career Services & International Relations.As a graduate of INSEAD’s Executive Master in Consulting & Coaching for Change with more than 20 years of international business leadership experience, in-depth understanding of the issues facing senior leaders, and ability to advance the role of learning in corporate sustainability, With AMPLFY he wishes to leverage this expertise in helping organisations improve success ratios, productivity and ROI. Acknowledged as a critical thinker, creative problem solver and go-to person in a crisis, his strength lies in the ability to identify and resolve critical business dilemmas and challenges such as low productivity, dysfunctional departments, mismanaged projects and demotivated personnel. Derek is passionate about leadership and the development of people and corporations with the goal to create a more harmonious and productive working environment for the future.
